The V-series is Motorola’s line of smallest mobile phones. An extension of Motorola’s older StarTAC line, the V-series is an even smaller clamshell design.

This was accomplished by moving the display into the top half of the clamshell, which had previously been empty.

The V3688 consists of two printed circuit board assemblies that are stacked on top of each other and located in the bottom half of the clamshell. A flexible circuit extends through the hinge to the LCD display in the top half of the clamshell.
